Lilly Salus
Lilly, President, is a senior at Berlin International School, where she is completing the IB Diploma Programme. Through JEC Berlin, she hopes to promote an exchange between Berlin business professionals and Berlin students. Aside from her involvement with JEC, Lilly is also the founder and leader of EconIR WEB. At her school, she is the editor of the school newspaper, co-founder of the economics club, and a member of the math club and Olympiad team. Lilly is also the captain of the varsity girls Volleyball team and has represented her school at multiple cross country and track & field tournaments. She was also an international finalist of the World Economics Cup. In her free time, Lilly enjoys playing competitive Volleyball, kayaking with family and friends, volunteering with a local non-profit lake preservation organization, baking, and improving her Chinese.
Anita Kutty
Anita, Chief Marketing Officer, is a senior at Berlin Metropolitan School, passionate about Economics and bridging the educational inequality gap. Her volunteer experience with underprivileged students in India and leading a fundraising campaign has shown her how pivotal Economics’ role is when it comes to development and reliable access to an education. Exploring other areas of Economics, in 2020, she won Runner-Up to an essay competition and won a 20% scholarship to Glion and/or Les Roches. She was also invited to speak at a United World Schools event on gender inequality within education, and the Global Changemakers Conference on her volunteer work. Anita joined JEC Berlin to become more knowledgeable about the subject, but to also interact and communicate with fellow students who similarly have a passion for Economics.
Arnas Danusas
Arnas, Vice-President, is a senior at Berlin International School and an aspiring lawyer. In 2019, he placed 1st in the National English Language Competition in Lithuania and was a keynote speaker at an international conference that same year, providing insight on how to improve the education system in his country. Despite wanting to study law, he has a passion for economics and believes it is an essential part of today's society, which is one of the reasons he is the co-founder of the JEC Berlin chapter. In his free time, Arnas takes up photography and enjoys traveling as well as cycling.
An Duong
An, Assistant Marketing Officer, is a senior at Berlin International School, where she is also a member of the Spanish, Math and Economics Clubs. In 2020, she participated in an international science olympiad, where her team secured 1st place. Her dream is to start a pharmaceutical company to ensure medication for currently untreated genetic diseases. This fuels her interest for Economics and Entrepreneurship, which drove her to join JEC Berlin and expand her social network with like-minded students. She is passionate about horses, and spends her free time horseback riding and helping out at the local veterinarian.
Kinza Hasan
Kinza, Chief Financial Officer, is a senior at Berlin International School. She has a keen interest in mathematics and economics. During the past two years, she mentored younger students in various disciplines. She is the co-founder and co-President of the maths club, and a member of the economics club, book club, Spanish club, and science Olympiad team at her school. She is also a finalist for the world economics cup from Germany. She intends to study mathematics in the future, and loves to explore how math influences other disciplines, especially economics and finance. By joining JEC Berlin, she aims to raise awareness on social issues, interact with professionals from all across the globe, and play a role in shaping tomorrow’s global economy. In her free time, Kinza loves reading and writing poems. Her work is regularly published in her school magazine and her personal blog “write a poem”.
Aysha Duncan
Aysha, Director of Strategic Initiatives, is a junior at Berlin International School, where she will work towards completing the IB program for the next two years. She plans to pursue a career in either law or medicine, yet has a newfound fascination with economics, joining JEC Berlin in an effort to widen her knowledge about the influence the social science has on society. In 2019, she scored in the top 20th percentile of an essay writing competition, receiving a scholarship to Cambridge Summer School for her essay exploring the modern relevance of the Hippocratic Oath for those entering the medical profession. Her favourite pastimes include playing video games as well as badminton, solving 1000+ piece jigsaw puzzles, and creative writing.
Michael Priess
Michael, Public Outreach Officer, is a senior at Friedensburg Oberschule Berlin. He has a keen interest in economics, business, politics, and languages. At his school, Michael is a writer for the annual yearbook. His external activities include playing soccer, analyzing companies and stocks creating excel templates, which have been merged with a personal project called “Mercury Stocks and Finances”, a source of knowledge for people that are interested in those sectors, and finally he enjoys learning new languages. Promoting Economics education is a personal interest of his, which he hopes to further through JEC Berlin.
Harshul Arora
Harshul is a junior at Berlin International School, where he plans to complete the IB Diploma Programme. After that, he intends to seek a profession as an Investment Banker. He has a keen interest in Finance, Economics, and Day Trading. Furthermore, he plays badminton multiple times a week, represents a club, and partakes in various badminton tournaments where he has represented Berlin & Brandenburg at State Championships.
Harshul is also part of the Math Club and leads the school badminton team. In addition, Harshul has also taken part in multiple Business related courses from renowned universities and has consistently placed on the High Honour Roll during all secondary years. He also guides science and math students from younger grades to help them achieve their desired results in these subjects.
